The Desert

Extending from Mexico, Osoyoos B.C is home to Canada's only desert.
Climate

The desert has a dry and cool climate with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in the summer, and -5 degrees Celsius in the winter. Rainfall is rare with an average of 300mm of rainfall annually.

The desert has limited vegetation including cactus's, sage bush, and greasewood. This biome is home to a wide variety of animals that include cougars, grey wolves, grizzly bears and bald eagles.
The Temperate Rainforest

Temperate rainforests are very rare and humans make matters worse by logging them. It has a bigger ecosystem than any other biome on earth, despite its small size. In Canada, this biome is only found along the coastal region of British Columbia.
Climate

The climate in the temperate rainforest is damp and cool all year round, never getting too cold. The average rainfall is more than 200cm a year. The large coastal fog also provides extra moisture.
